This Privacy Policy is for Aging in Place Alliance (AIPA), the guides and conversations at https://goaipa.com. AIPA publishes plain-language guides for adapting a home and hosts Live Q&A and Ask Anything 1:1 conversations. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information, including mobile numbers used for SMS.

SMS and mobile numbers
If you check the SMS opt-in box and give us a mobile number, you agree that Aging in Place Alliance may send you SMS messages about:
- Live Q&A and Ask Anything 1:1 sessions
- guides and follow-ups you asked for
- contractor program notices, for partners who opted in
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We use a messaging provider (currently Twilio) and telecommunications carriers only as operational service providers to deliver the texts you opted in to receive.
No Sale of Mobile Data
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your mobile phone number, text messaging originator opt-in data, or consent to any third parties.
No Sharing for Marketing/Affiliates
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Exclusion from General Sharing
All categories in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with or disclosed to any third parties except as strictly necessary to deliver the SMS service through our operational service providers (such as telecommunications carriers and messaging platforms).
Information we collect
- Name, email, and mobile number when you sign up for a session, agree to texts, or ask to talk with Shep
- Notes from a conversation you chose to have with Shep
- For partner contractors: business details and billing records needed to run the referral
- Payment details for a contractor invoice, processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers
How we use information
We use this information to operate Aging in Place Alliance, host sessions, send the SMS messages you opted into, prevent fraud, and improve the guides.
Sharing
We share information with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, payments, and messaging) under contracts that limit how they may use it. We may disclose information if required by law. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from this general sharing, except as strictly necessary to deliver SMS through operational service providers as described under SMS and mobile numbers.
Retention
We keep signup, conversation, and consent records for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and tax requirements, and document SMS opt-in. You can email us to request access, correction, or deletion where the law allows.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version. Continued use of Aging in Place Alliance after an update means you accept the revised policy.
